Our students
Motivation not selectionStudents earn their way onto the programme by going to weekly Confidence & Articulacy workshops. After six weeks’ regular attendance they are invited to become ‘Access Project Students’ and are matched with one-to-one tutors.
|
Year 9 startStudents join The Access Project at the age of 13 or 14, the year before they begin their GCSEs, and they remain on the programme until they finish A-Levels. |
Equipped to succeedWe are determined that all of our students will fulfil their potential. For many that will mean winning places at top universities, but regardless, we help all students develop the skills they need to be successful, so that they leave The Access Project equipped to shape their own futures.

The schools our students attendAll our partner schools have at least 40% of their students on Free School Meals (FSM). Many of their pupils also speak English as Additional Language (EAL), and the majority of their parents did not attend university.
|
The number per yearAround 20 students in each year group are full Access Project participants, adding up to 80 students in each school. Receipt of tutoring is dependent on students showing sustained commitment by attending workshops regularly. |
