We are delighted to confirm the appointment of John Kelly-Jones as our permanent Chair of the Board of Trustees. John kindly stepped into the breach as Interim Chair in April 2022, and we could not be happier that John has now agreed to make this role permanent.
John is a retired partner and COO of Independent Franchise Partners, LLP, and a non-executive director of a number of companies. John’s background is in asset management and banking, and throughout his career he has seen the benefits of access to quality education. He is passionate about improving the quality of education generally and ensuring that all students have access to the best possible resources and curriculum.
Alongside John’s appointment, we are extremely grateful to Subash Viroomal, one of the existing Board members, for agreeing to take on the role of Deputy Chair. Subash is a Partner at Bain & Company, a global Strategy Consultancy. Subash is part of Bain’s social impact team focusing on sustainability and education, where he supports corporates, non-governmental organisations and start-ups seeking to improve futures for underserved populations. We welcome Subash into this new role and we look forward to working more closely with him in the future.
Finally, we also want to recognise the contribution of Neil Cosgrove, who has recently stepped down from our Board of Trustees after 12 years of service. We would like to thank Neil for all of his work during his tenure on the Board and we send him all our best wishes for the future.
