The Access Project (TAP) took part in the BBC Asian Network’s ‘Big Debate’ about the equality gap at our universities. Young people from affluent backgrounds are still six times more likely to attend a top university.  Current student Chethaka and former student Tahmid, who’s now a trustee of the charity, spoke about how the sort of targeted support TAP offers can open up a world of opportunity. Chethaka told presenter Qasa Alom: “The Access Project has helped me excel in my subjects. The support they have given me has made me want to go into university and study medicine.”
